Everyone in business seems to be using Facebook to try and get more leads and sales but fail miserably. Facebook isn't a new media with different rules, it's just another media.

Develop a guide with useful information that will help your target audience. Create a list of the most common questions you are asked by your prospects, then simply write the answers.

Show examples of how to solve the prospects problems. Give the basics but not all the answers. You still want them to pay you to do it, you just show them what they need to do in the blue print.

This is my go-to for lead generation. An e-book can be a report. Some people think of an e-book as a real book, which is fine, but in this case you don't want to give away a novel. Keep it short and to the point. Give away good information that the reader can use, but keep it broad enough that they will want your help.

Offer a gift certificate.

This is an easy way to build up your data base. Offer a gift certificate or discount coupon that can only be claimed on your Facebook page. This way you can track the results and leads directly from Facebook rather than having the same offer in other areas as well.

Offer Video training series.

These can be a bit labour intensive and harder to test because of the time it takes to make them, but they are a great tool for engaging leads and providing real value. Solve a common problem your customers face in the video series and you will place yourself as the expert.

Create a checklist.

Another tool that will instantly help your prospects, is by giving them a checklist they can use to solve their problem. It can have a series of questions on it to be answered, can be an info graphic, a tick list or a process chart. As long as it details the steps to be taken to perform a task which will help your prospect.

Webinar registration.

This is another great way to quickly build your data base. By offering free registration to your webinar and targeting it to your ideal customer, you will have warm prospects that are telling you they are interested in what you have to offer. Now you just need to provide good content and you will have new customers.

Run a contest.

Contests run properly can give your ad free publicity by being shared around Facebook by the contestants. Of course the prize needs to be sufficient enough that people are going to enter and you have to actually award someone as the winner. If done correctly this strategy can launch a new business into an instant profitable one.
